For years, "AI laptop" was a phrase that meant very little. This year, it finally means something. Every premium machine we tested now ships with a dedicated neural processing unit, and the software has caught up to make it useful.

The biggest change is not flashy. Transcription, background blur, noise removal and photo search now run locally, instantly and without sending your data to a server. Battery life barely moves when these features are active.

We spent four weeks working on six flagship laptops, running the same workloads on each: live captioning during calls, local image generation, document summarization and a full day of mixed use.
