It’s been nearly 13 years since the release of James Cameron’s first Avatar movie. The film is credited with being one of the highest-grossing releases of all time, passing $2.9 billion at the global box office.
Now, after more than a decade, 20th Century Studios has released the official trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water, and it’s already making quite the buzz. The trailer follows the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, and the lengths they go to keep each other safe. Combining stunning visuals and new creatures, the clip also features a nod to the original film with the signature Na’vi line: “I see you.”
The sequel stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet, Michelle Yeoh, Edie Falco, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Oona Chaplin, Jermaine Clement, and more.
According to Deadline, four sequels are planned and will create a “connected saga.”
