Empire co-creator Lee Daniels has broken his silence about Monique accusing him, Oprah Winfrey, and Tyler Perry of having her blackballed from Hollywood.
Daniels appeared on TMZ’s RAQ RANTS on Friday (June 29) to explain why Monique needs to “shut up” and quit blaming him because he played a crucial role in her winning an Oscar for Precious. He insists he paid Monique for the budget they had to make the film, which, according to her, was only $50,000. Precious went on to gross $47.5 million at the box office.
As we previously reported, Monique blasted Daniels, Winfrey, and Perry during a stand-up special at the Apollo Theater last year. The actress/comedian believes the trio plotted against her by saying “she’s difficult to work with” on sets.
In the clip below, Daniels also addresses the viral video with Damon Dash who confronted him over a $2 million debt.
