Allen Iverson is leaving Ice Cube’s Big3 League due to scheduling conflicts

NBA Hall of Famer Allen Iverson is parting ways with Ice Cube’s Big3 Basketball League citing scheduling conflicts.

“I have informed the @thebig3 that I will not coach this year and they support me in this decision,” A.I. wrote on Instagram Wednesday (June 6). “However, do know that this does not end my association or support of the league and I will attend games this season whenever able. I wish the league continued success. I encourage my fans to continue to support the Big 3 as I will.”

Iverson, who was the biggest star to join the Big3, was suspended last season when he failed to show up to a game in Dallas. However, he says there’s no bad blood between him and the league.

“When my friend and idol, Ice Cube asked me to get involved in helping him I did not hesitate and would do it all again in at a moment’s notice,” A.I. added. “I wish the league the players, coaches and fans continued success this and every season that follows.”

Iverson will be replaced by former Laker and five-time NBA Champion Michael Cooper, ESPN reports.
