Michael B. Jordan tapped to voice lead character in new animated series ‘gen:LOCK’

Michael B. Jordan revealed his love for anime during the theatrical release of Marvel’s Black Panther. Now, he’s finally been giving the chance to flex his voiceover chops as the lead character of Rooster Teeth’s animated series gen:LOCK.

According to Variety, Jordan will provide the voice of Julian Chase, a fighter pilot tasked with protecting earth’s last free society alongside a small group of new recruits. When it becomes apparent that the society is in real danger of being destroyed, a mecha programme is introduced which places pilots in the driver’s seats of gigantic weaponized robots.

Jordan’s production company, Outlier Society Productions, will co-produce in association with Rooster Teeth.

Rooster Teeth’s Head of Animation and gen:LOCK creator Gray G. Haddock said, “Michael’s visionary career choices and commitment to meaningful entertainment, not to mention his love of anime, line up perfectly with what drives Rooster Teeth, and we’re thrilled for the opportunity to do some cool sci-fi storytelling together.”
