With the second season of Luke Cage slated to hit Netflix in just over a month, showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker revealed that a few well-known artists will make guest appearances.
While speaking with Billboard, Coker confirmed that Luke Cage season 2 will feature appearances by Ghostface Killah, Rakim, Joi & D-Nice, Gary Clark Jr., Esperanza Spalding, Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram, Stephen Marley, KRS-One, and Jadakiss. The report also notes that Rakim will perform an original song for the season 2 finale.
“Not only do we have [Rakim] on Luke Cage, we have him performing a song about Luke Cage,” said Coker. “It’s manna from heaven.”
Like the past season, we can expect to see most of these artists perform at Mariah Dillard’s (Alfre Woodard) Harlem’s Paradise.
Luke Cage season 2 will hit Netflix on Friday, June 22.
