T.I. isn’t feeling the bland apology Starbucks gave after store employees at a location in Philadelphia called police on two seated black men for “trespassing.”
The Atlanta rapper shared his thoughts on the incident and suggested African-Americans “preserve our right to stop spending money with places that don’t respect us equally.
“Until they have made some progressive steps on how they plan to rectify the situation I don’t see no other answer.”
T.I. says there are only two ways to get the attention of America: the loss of life and the loss of finance. Although he says he doesn’t have anything personally against Starbucks or their shareholders, it’s just “too much that’s been left undone when it comes to us being treated equal.”
Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson apologized to the two men in a statement, saying he would like to meet them personally and make any necessary changes to Starbucks practices that would help prevent such an occurrence from happening again.
