A heated argument between a Houston gas station owner and a customer over the price of a Slim Jim ended in a parking lot shooting on Tuesday.
According to reports, Mohammed Kahloon shot 25-year-old Cameron Carson in the leg after the two argued over the beef stick, which Kahloon accused Carson of stealing.
Kenny Allen, who was traveling with Carson and witnessed the shooting, told KTRK, “This guy came running out of the store while I’m pumping gas yelling, ‘You didn’t pay for that Slim Jim.’ He said, ‘I did pay for the Slim Jim.’ The next thing you know, this guy reaches in his back, pulls out his gun and shoots him.”
Police say Carson is now in surgery but expected to survive. The owner is currently talking to investigators but there’s no word if he will face charges.
This shooting comes on the heels of a similar incident in Memphis where a store clerk chased and gunned down a teenager he accused of stealing beer.
