Tessa Thompson will be reuniting with her Thor: Ragnarok co-star Chris Hemsworth in Sony’s Men in Black reboot, according to THR.
Filmmaker F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton, Fate of the Furious) is set to direct the project, written by Iron Man screenwriters Matt Holloway and Art Marcum. The film will hit theaters June 14, 2019.
Agents K and J, portrayed by original trilogy stars Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith, respectively, will not be featured in the reboot. Instead, the film will feature new characters to build on the contemporary sci-fi world the agents created.
Details regarding the project are scarce but sources tell THR the new film is more of an ensemble piece than a two-hander and will be more global in scope.
Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are back as producers, while Steven Spielberg is returning as executive producer.
