Nikolas Cruz, the
mentally disturbed white supremacist who gunned down 17 students at a Florida high school this week, was captured on video using his backyard for target practice while wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.
The video, reportedly shot in October, shows just one of several incidents that prompted neighbors to call the cops repeatedly for “strange and violent behavior.” According to TMZ, police were called a total of 39 times.
Kids in Cruz’s neighboorhood are saying the teen was unhinged, violent towards animals, and often flew off the handle for no reason.
Cruz was expelled from Majory Stone Douglas High School for disciplinary reasons months before shooting and killing at least 17 students with an AR-15 assault weapon. The 19-year-old had also joined the white supremacist group, Republic of Florida, and participated in their paramilitary training exercises, reports Time.
The Republic of Florida describes itself as a “white civil rights organization fighting for white identitarian politics.” Since the shooting, the group has distanced itself from Cruz telling the Anti-Defamation League, “He acted on his own behalf of what he just did and he’s solely responsible for what he just did.”
Cruz was charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder and is being held without bail.
