A gun-wielding Ohio pastor and two members of his family were arrested after police say they robbed a Sunday school teacher at their church in Toledo.
Anthony Morris, a 49-year-old pastor at St. Paul’s AME Zion Church, was arrested along with his wife, Zelda Morris, and 19-year-old daughter Kamali Morris over the weekend. They have all been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
Police quoted Zelda Morris as saying the attack allegedly happened because the teacher had an affair with Morris.
“You wanna know why this happened? It happened because your mom slept with my husband,” Zelda Morris allegedly told the teacher’s daughter, per the police report.
Nickema Turner, 39, was in her class teaching when Kamali Morris grabbed her by the hair. Police say Zelda then punched Turner in the face before the pastor intervened and threw her to the ground. Zelda then dumped out Turner’s purse and took several items, including a stun gun and cellphone. The pastor allegedly held a gun on Turner
The family then fled the church before police arrived, Toledo Blade reports.
Turner was treated at the scene for shock and minor injuries.
