Miami Heats fans were ecstatic to see Dwyane Wade back on the court Friday night in his first game since being traded from Cleveland.
Wade took the court midway through the first quarter as the Heat fell behind 9-0. He immediately threw a lob pass to Hassan Whiteside, who was able to slam home a dunk. After game Wade said that the energy in the building felt like “playoff atmosphere,” though the “We want Wade!” chants came a little too early for his liking.
“The crowd was amazing. I missed this crowd,” he said.
Wade played 22 minutes in the Heat’s 91-85 win over the Bucks, contributing 3 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals.
The Miami Heat are hoping Wade can play some clutch minutes as they try to hold on to the 7th spot in the Eastern Conference.
