Cavaliers Trade Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, & Derrick Rose

Isaiah Thomas is on the move…again.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cleveland Cavaliers have traded Thomas to the Los Angeles Lakers for a 2018 first-round pick, Jordan Clarkson, and Larry Nance Jr. Thomas, who was acquired from the Celtics in August for Kyrie Irving, has struggled since making his return from a major hip injury in January. He only played 15 games for the Cavs, averaging 14.7 points.

“He’s worked too hard to get back, and he’s a ball-dominant player,” said Thomas’ agent, Aaron Goodwin. “It’s LeBron’s ball, and this clearly wasn’t working. [Cavs GM] Koby [Altman] and I have had enough conversations where it was clear, with the way the system was going, it wasn’t beneficial for either party. This is a good opportunity for Isaiah.”

The Cavaliers have also acquired Utah Jazz guard Rodney Hood and Sacramento Kings veteran guard George Hill as part of a three-team trade. Cleveland sent Jae Crowder and Derrick Rose to Utah and the Jazz have sent veteran guard Joe Johnson to the Kings. The Cavs also sends Iman Shumpert to Sacramento as part of the deal.
