The first annual Developing Options Awards Banquet ceremony was held in Southern California Monday night. The event honored current & former players of the Crenshaw Rams—a team in Snoop Dogg’s Youth Football League—as well as those who have made a difference in inner-city communities. Rappers Wiz Khalifa, T.I. and former NBA Star Josh Smith was in attendance to receive awards for their various contributions.
Wiz Khalifa received the “Epic Man of the Year” honor for his multiple donations, which according to TMZ, totaled up to $100K. T.I. took home the “University Iron Man” award for donating to Crenshaw High School’s new football field. Smith received the “Baller-Shot Caller” award for gifting Snoop’s football league with new team uniforms.
Rappers Nipsey Hussle and Trinidad James spearheaded educational classes and spent thousands of dollars on shoes and clothing for over 400 kids. Nipsey taught “Business Cluster Leadership”, while Trinidad James taught a class titled “First Class.”
The event was founded by Ram’s CEO, Eugene “Big U” Henley.
