Walt Disney Pictures unveiled a new trailer for the film adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time on Tuesday. The clip shows that the worlds and creature described in Madeleine L’Engle’s science fiction book are being breathtakingly brought to life on the big screen, thanks to Ava DuVernay.
Previous trailers showed glimpses of the gorgeous world where the father of the character Meg is revealed as a scientist who created the tesseract, a fifth dimension object that allows him to wrinkle time and travel across the universe. The new trailer shows off the consequence of his disappearance:
Meg’s teachers and friends are worried about her at school. After she explains her father’s work to her friend, Calvin O’Keefe (Levi Miller), he remarks that she must miss him a lot. “More than anything in the universe,” she tells him. That sets off a journey to figure out where he ended up: she meets three witches, Mrs Whatsit, Mrs Which, and Mrs Who (Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, and Mindy Kaling, respectively), who tell her that her father has done something extraordinary, but that he now needs help.
A Wrinkle in Time hits theaters on March 9th.
