Marvel unveiled a new trailer for the studio’s first blockbuster movie of 2018, Black Panther, on Monday. The trailer aired following a Kendrick Lamar performance at the College Football National Championship game in Atlanta. Lamar is also executive producing the film’s soundtrack.
In the one minute clip, we see Chadwick’s Boseman’s T’Challa (Black Panther) enemies Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) and Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis) try to take him down as the king of Wakanda.
Wakanda is an African country considered the worlds most technologically advanced.
Black Panther’s plot focuses on T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to take his rightful place as king. His throne is tested when a powerful old enemy emerges and draws him into a conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk.
Black Panther will premiere in theaters February 16, 2018.
The Ryan Coogler directed film also stars Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Angela Basset, Winston Duke, Forest Whitaker, and Letitia Wright.
