Atlanta’s newly elected mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced a 38-member transition team on Thursday (Jan. 11) that include rappers Clifford “T.I.” Harris and Michael “Killer Mike” Render.
“The 38-strong transition team represents a tremendous amount of diversity and depth,” said Bottoms. Per Fox 5, the team will be divided into subgroups – working on searches for key members of her cabinet. T.I. and Killer Mike, who both endorsed Bottoms during her campaign run, will help come up with “fresh ideas and recommendations for best practices,” she said. Other people likely will be invited to work with the sub-committees on targeted efforts or searches.
“We are seeking to make sure we attract the best talent in this city,” the Mayor stated.
Mayor Bottoms said addressing youth violence is on the top of her agenda.
