Security Footage Shows Port Authority Bombing in Manhattan

A man has been arrested after a suspected pipe bombing near New York City’s Port Authority bus terminal on Monday (Dec. 11). Police believe the bomb was intended to explode on a subway carriage where it could have affected hundreds of people.

The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Akayed Ullah, was arrested at the scene wearing an improvised explosive device, Police Commissioner James O’Neill said. Ullah, a Bangladesh immigrant living in Brooklyn, was injured after the device detonated prematurely. The New York Post is calling the incident a terrorist act, inspired by ISIS.
