Woody McClain To Reprise Role As Bobby Brown In “The Bobby Brown Story”

Woody McClain, who starred as Bobby Brown in BET’s The New Edition Story will reprise his role as the R&B/Pop icon in The Bobby Brown Story, Deadline reported on Monday.

The two-part followup was announced in April, following the success of the New Edition miniseries.

The Bobby Brown Story will follow Brown through his career, his affair with Janet Jackson, and his marriage to the late Pop icon Whitney Houston.

The series is expected to air sometime in 2018.

Casting is underway for Houston, Jackson, Bobbi Kristina, Teddy Riley, L.A. Reid, and Babyface.

According to BET, The Bobby Brown Story will be a story about redemption.
