50 Cent and Starz appear to be back on good terms following a few rocky months in their relationship.
The rapper, who serves as executive producer of this network’s hit show Power, announced on Instagram Tuesday (Sept. 5) that there will be less of a wait for season 5 and to thank the network for cutting him a huge check.
“Just got off with Chris Albrecht, head of STARZ. New deal, more POWER coming your way,” fif captioned in a photo of the two. “Next season there will be less of a Wait. Thanks for supporting me, ?♂️I can’t believe how much money they just gave me. That shit just fucked with my nerves my hand is shaking. LOL TURN THAT SHIT BACK ON NOW?
50’s latest remarks symbolize a change in direction from comments he’s made in the past about the network. Back in July, he threatened to leave Power after the show’s creator, Courtney A. Kemp, revealed that Starz refused to greenlight two extra episodes, which resulted in storylines being cut for the fourth season.
50 stated that Starz’s lack of respect and promotion for the show had tempted him to pull it from the network.
Earlier this year it was revealed that Power was second only to HBO’s flagship show Game of Thrones in terms of premium cable show ratings. The premiere episode of Power’s third season racked up 2.26 million viewers — the highest ever for the STARZ network.
