Hurricane Harvey: UFC Heavyweight Derrick Lewis Rescues Children from Flood Waters

Although Hurricane Harvey has downgraded from a category 4 to a category 1, extreme winds and rains have battered coastal communities on the Gulf of Texas. The cyclone, which is still active as “Tropical Storm Harvey,” is the first hurricane to hit the state since 2005.

The catastrophic event has led to historic amounts of flooding, especially in the Greater Houston area.

Houston is home to UFC heavyweight Derrick Lewis, who was seen with a couple of friends rescuing stranded children from the torrential rains. He also put information on Twitter encouraging people to reach out if they’re in need of assistance…”no matter where they at.”
