A High School teacher in Georgia was hospitalized after shooting himself early Thursday morning, according to the Douglas County School System.
The teacher suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound at approximately 7:15 a.m. while alone in his office near his classroom. He was discovered by another teacher who called 911.
No students were in the building at the time, and no one witnessed the shooting, local Atlanta news station 11 Alive reports.
The teacher, an 18-year employee of the school, was taken to a nearby hospital. His condition is not known.
Lithia Springs High School, located in northeastern Douglas County, has a population of approximately 15,000.
