Despite having a subpar debut with the Los Angeles Lakers, the No. 2 pick in the NBA draft Lonzo Ball has been named M.V.P. of the 2017 Summer League.
Ball averaged 9.3 assists (the most in NBA history), 7.7 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per game. He is the first Laker to ever earn Summer League MVP honors, according to Spectrum SportsNet’s Mike Bresnahan.
Lakers never had a summer-league MVP until Ball. Derrick Character was their last player to be an All-Summer League pick (2nd team, 2010).

Though his play on the court was getting rave reviews, what shoes he was wearing was also very much talked about. Big Baller vs. Nike. Adidas vs. Under Armour. It seems like every night he laced up he was being asked about why he was wearing that specific brand.
