Dr. Dre is giving back to his hometown Compton in a major way! According to the Los Angeles Times, the music mogul has pledged to donate $10 million to help build a performing arts center for Compton High School.
The complex will be decked out with state of the art equipment including a 1,200-seat theater.
“My goal is to provide kids with the kind of tools and learning they deserve,” Dre said in a statement. “The performing arts center will be a place for young people to be creative in a way that will help further their education and positively define their future.”
The new facility is expected to break ground in 2020.
