Published

on

Over the last six decades, international jewel thief Dorris Payne has stolen about $2 million in jewelry and has lifted pricey baubles from countless jewelry stores around the world. Her first arrest was in 1952 and her largest known alleged theft was reported in the 1970s when she was caught stealing a diamond ring worth $500,000.

Payne was arrested again back in July at Walmart in Chamblee, Ga. after she was charged with stealing about $86.22 worth of merchandise from the store’s pharmacy, electronics, and grocery departments, WGCL reports.

At the time, Payne was on 120 days of house arrest, which was part of her sentence in March for admittedly stealing a necklace from Von Maur at Perimeter Mall in 2016. She also was sentenced to three years of probation and was banned from shopping in any mall in DeKalb County.

However, on Friday Payne walked out of jail after a DeKalb Superior Court judge revoked her probation and threw out the latest shoplifting charge, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The legend of Payne’s alleged thefts has long fascinated the public and media, with countless news stories and a 2013 documentary film, “The Life and Crimes of Doris Payne,” detailing her feats.

A man who walked around Seattle bearing a Nazi armband got socked out after he allegedly harassed a black passenger on a bus, BuzzFeed reports.

The unidentified Nazi was first spotted on a bus, where witnesses say he was harassing a black passenger. From there, karma came back to haunt him almost immediately as he was tracked down by anti-fascist activists using social media.

The Nazi then got into a confrontation with the unidentified people before one man punched him directly in the face knocking him onto the sidewalk, according to the report.

In an interview with BuzzFeed, one of the anonymous social media users who helped track the Seattle Nazi applauded the unidentified man who knocked the Nazi to the ground.

“I would say that we successfully identified, tracked and coordinated to neutralize a clear and present danger to Seattle,” said the user. “Whether we coordinated the actual punch or not… I, for one, applaud the anonymous hero.”
